2nd Preliminary Task
In the second preliminary task, we had to shoot an action match task. Action match is cutting from one shot into another while the subject is still in action/motion.
Cutting on action or matching on action is an editing technique in which the editor cuts from one shot to another view that fits in with the characters action or movement therefore helping to hide the cut.
This involves an action being started in one shot and completed in the next. For example a character opens the door in shot 1 and walks through the door in shot 2.
In this video I filmed my little cousin, doing an action match, first he picks a tub and fills water in it and then he runs away.
