Merits:

CapCut is straightforward, trimming clips, adding effects and moving things around is easier. You don’t need to watch hours of tutorials and can start editing as soon as you start.

It has a massive library of templates, effects, music and sounds.

It has multi-platform availability, it works on mobile (Android/iOS) and desktop.

It is designed for social media platforms like TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.

De-merits:

CapCut has limited advanced editing tools like colour grading. 

A subscription is required for premium effects.

On heavy projects it can lag and crash.

It is not ideal for long and complex videos

The app may have a right over your uploaded content.
